There’s a lot of talk about diversity in the gaming community these days, and we at Gearbox believe we have one of the most diverse communities out there and we’re proud of it! This week’s Gearbox Community Badass,@Theoldman75 furthers that belief by proving that there’s more than enough room on Pandora gamers ofevery age! At 76 years young, @Theoldman75, aka Glenn Schaeffer, is a forum regular and probably our most mature and stoic community member. He’s a man of few words, but was kind enough to honor us by being our Community Badass this week and answering a few questions for us!

How long have you been playing Borderlands?

I have been playing since about a year after Borderlands came out as it was recommended by a friend.

What is it about Borderlands that has you hooked and coming back for more?

I kept coming back for a couple reasons. 1. It was easier to drive vehicles with a mouse and 2. I enjoyed all the characters and their diverse skill trees

Who is your favorite playable character?

Probably Axton, the Commando. I like the duel wielding turret using slag and explosive weapons in Borderlands 2.

If you had a real-life action skill, what would it be? (it doesn’t have to be one in the game, btw)

I would like to have a skill that would read my enemies mind and then blow his head clean off!

How long have you been gaming in general?

I’ve been using a computer since Windows first came out. I got a severance check when the company was bought out and got me a nice gaming computer and was self taught. Can’t subtract to well so you figure the years.

Any funny stories from your time on Pandora?

All been funny especially when a friend keeps dying and he is having to be saved by an old man. We both laugh after completing a really hard mission and discuss how things went.

What are you most looking forward to seeing from Gearbox in the future?

I am looking forward to “THE NEXT BIG THING” Just keep the vehicles steerable for this left handed, one armed, old man.

Where can people go to check out the latest from you?
